Hi

First of all thank you for getting this great program to android.

The basic functions are working great on my archos 70 internet tablet and HTC legend devices both of them running Android. 2.1.
A few things are a little buggy still.
1. Sometime it crashes on start up.
2. It always crash when the device orients itself from landscape to portrait.

Question.
When do you think plugplayer for android will get the ability to be controlled as a renderer?

Sugestion:
A seperate place for android related posts in the forum would be great. It's a bit tricky to find Android related posts now.

Thanks for becoming a PlugPlayer for Android user!

Whenever it crashes, please press the "report" button on the dialog that pops up, and if you can, put in a few words about what you were doing when it crashed. If you do that, Google will send me (sanitized) stack traces. If you don't do this, I won't know people are having problems (unless of course you post to the forum )

Even better, for these crashes, it would be even better if you could run PlugPlayer and right after it crashes run the "log collector" app and email your logs to howard@plugplayer.com. That will a) get me better information faster, and b) get my attention better

Re:Being controlled as a renderer, assuming people keep buying the app, the current plan is to eventually bring it up to par with the iPhone version. What order those features get added will depended on a) which are the most requested, and b) how hard they are Renderer support is one of those that will most certainly be requested often (probably right after WAN support), but it's also a bunch of work and will probably take some time.

Good suggestion on a separate space for Android posts; I've done that and moved this topic there.

Hi Abramsh

I don't have any report button showing when the error dialog appears.

Error states the following:
Process com.plugplayer.plugplayer for program plugplayer stopped unexpected. Try again.

the only option avaible for me is to force a close down of the program.

This happens always when the orientation of the screen changes. Both on my Archos and HTC Legend. I also get the same error on a few occations on startup of plugplayer.

I have also downloaded the log collector and i will send you the log when the errors occurs. However do you need only a part of the log or is everything needed. I would prefer just to send a part of the log to you so if you could say what part you needed.

I really looking forward to the day when the render support will be part of the program. That is why i bought the plug player and also what made me intrested in it. It would also make the program more uniqe as there is no other upnp program on the market with that function.

That's odd; I was under the impression that any app from the store that crashes will have two buttons "Force Close" and "Report".

If you want to filter things out of the logs, you can just look for PlugPlayer and cut/paste the stack trace near it. (You will see something about an exception and a bunch of lines that say "at com.plugplayer....")

Also, please make sure you are using the latest version. I made a few updates this morning that could have fixed the crash on screen orientation change.
