Quality of Album Cover Art using Synology NAS

Postby solstice » Mon Mar 05, 2012 8:20 am

Hi,

I use PlugPlayer as a remote on my iPhone/ipad, streaming music from my Synology ds212 NAS to my Linn Majik DS Player.
It works great with one minor flaw... the Album cover artwork is shown, but looks like zoomed up from a very small pic.

But the pics I used are all highres images.

The search function on thisd board only told me that it´s the NAS that sends the image quality. But this can´t be... I also have an app by Synology (audio DS) and it shows glorious album cover art from the same NAS...
unfortunately this app can´t do gapless playback and won´t recognize my Linn player, so it´s useless for me.

Anyone any idea how I can get the highres covers displayed on my iPad?

Thanks and best,
Tobias

So, if it shows good looking art in a different app, then it must be that either the server is sending different artwork to PlugPlayer and their own app, or their own app knows how to change the URL to the artwork to get a better quality version.

Do you know what server the Synology is running?

It's probably Synology's own DLNA server. Other people are having the same issue:
